Haugesund

The Haugesund office has the capability to provide all the services offered by the Aibel group. The number of engineers working here is on a steady increase, indicating  the considerable amount of engineering work going on in the Haugesund area. .

The Haugesund location is responsible for modifications to the Snorre A and B platforms, in addition to maintenance work at Kårstø. The company is planning the construction at its yard of one of the modules for the Gudrun deck, which is scheduled to start in the summer of 2011. Once completed, the Gudrun deck will also be assembled in Haugesund and made ready for transport out to the Gudrun field.

The offshore yard in Haugesund can boast a long and well-known industrial history, featuring a number of owners, both local and international. The yard is located on the island of Risøy in the charming town of Haugesund, on the west coast of Norway. The company became part of Aibel in 2007 via an acquisition. The yard soon showed signs of development and is now growing in line with the rest of the group. The Haugesund office is the largest within the Aibel group.

Aibel has made major investments in the Haugesund area. Not only are there plans to increase capacity at the yard;  a new office building is also under construction at Garpaskjær, nearby the yard, scheduled for completion in 2012. This will provide excellent facilities for the company’s engineers located in Haugesund. .
