Ragnar Høeg (47)
He is responsible for staffing projects with the right people within these areas. He is also responsible for the supervision of the professional development for each employee, and for ensuring that their wishes and needs are followed up on.
Høeg started at Aibel in 1996 (previously ABB). His expertise is in steel constructions with a focus on design and analysis, and he has worked on jackets, decks, subsea templates and modules.
In 2000, Aibel started collaborating with Bergesen Offshore. Bergesen Offshore were working on projects that converted old oil tankers to FPSOs, and Aibel supplied the processing equipment and the vessels. Ragnar describes this as an exciting time, with Bergesen being a new client, the start-up of fabrication in Thailand and later the start of engineering work in Thailand. Approximately 20 large and small modules were fabricated by 2004. Ragnar then became the head of the area team at Alvheim FPSO. In 2007 he started his current job as a Section Manager.
Høeg is trained in construction from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (today the Norwegian University of Science and Technology). He did his Diploma Thesis in Germany, where he also started his career. He spent a year working as a Civil Engineer for a German industrial construction company.
Ragnar is married and has two children. He loves outdoor activities, and enjoys days in the mountains or by the seaside.
Even though he has worked for Aibel for a long time, his work day is never boring.
Some may think that I have been here for too long, but I have always had new and exciting challenges through many different projects. I enjoy seeing people in my section succeed after being faced with new and challenging tasks. It is great to see colleagues growing with the tasks they are given, and seeing the company develop. Both the professional and social environment at Aibel make me look forward to going to work.
