Matland met with Storting reps
The politicians' visit to Stord/Haugesund University College in Haugesund is organised by two local and regional economic development organisations, Haugaland Vekst and Haugesundregionens Næringsforening. The objective is to give the Storting representatives information about the most important issues facing the region today.
The meeting gathers around 60 representatives from municipalities and businesses throughout the entire northern part of the region, with Erling Matland as one of the speakers.
"It's always nice to be invited to talk about our activities," he says.
Challenging engineering shortage
The theme of Matland's speech was how to exploit offshore expertise in renewable energy.
"I also talked about one of the biggest challenges for us right now - the lack of engineering expertise," explains Matland.
In addition to recruiting, he also touched on topics including the further development of the Norwegian energy market, the industry in Northern Norway and the infrastructure on the West Coast.
