New Chairman of Aibel

Gert W. Munthe has been elected Chairman of Aibel AS, with immediate effect.

Munthe has already served on the Board of Aibel for several years.

"Aibel is a company in a fantastic period of development. As Chairman, I am looking forward to helping this excellent progress continue," he says.

Broad experience

Aibel is owned by a partnership between Herkules Capital and Ferd. Munthe is the Managing Partner at Herkules Capital. He takes over the chairmanship from Jo Lunder, who has left a position in Ferd to work at Vimpelcom.

Munthe has over 20 years' experience in management and as CEO, including positions as CEO at Alpharma Inc., Netcom ASA and Nycomed Imaging. He studied economics and statistics at the University of Oslo, and also holds two Master's degrees from Columbia University in the City of New York, USA.

New member of the Board of Directors

Dag Opedal, Executive Vice President responsible for Ferd's industrial investments, has been elected to join the Board of Directors of Aibel AS. Jarle Roth and Lars Takla will continue to serve on the Board. Karsten Amble Bøe, Asbjørn John Eggesbø and Momir Repaja are the employee representatives on the Board of Directors.

 

Aibel is one of the largest oil service companies in Norway and is established within renewable energy. The company has 5,000 employees and operations in five countries, including two world-class fabrication yards. Aibel is an engineering company that plans, builds, upgrades and maintains platforms, vessels and production facilities in the oil and gas industry.
