Aibel is an industrial pioneer with a history dating back more than a century. The company is a leading supplier of services related to oil, gas and renewable energy.

Aibel has around 4,000 employees worldwide. The company generates annual turnover of approximately NOK 10,7 billion (2016 figures).


Aibel AS has six offices in Norway. They are located in Hammerfest, Harstad, Bergen, Haugesund, Stavanger and Oslo.

In addition, the company also has international offices in Singapore and Thailand. The headquarters are located in Stavanger.

In Haugesund in Norway and Laem Chabang in Thailand Aibel has yards that supply modules and topsides to customers worldwide.

Aibel employees can be found on installations all over the Norwegian continental shelf. They are present on more than twenty oil and gas fields and on four onshore facilities.

Scope of services

The business at Aibel is split into three business units: Modifications and yard services, Field Development and Renewables.

The company delivers the full range of EPC services. The scope of services includes concept studies, FEEDs, engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, system completion, maintenance, operational support and decommissioning.

Aibel has an extensive network of strong and long-term customer relationships.

Aibel AS is owned by Ferd (50 percent), Ratos (32 percent) and Swedish pension fund the Sixt AP Fund (18 percent). Ratos manages the pension fund’s ownership stake.

Both Norwegian Ferd and Swedish Ratos have significant investments in private and public equity.
