Cornerstone for new building laid down

Thursday saw the kickoff for the new Aibel building in Bergen. The cornerstone was laid down at Kokstad.

“It's a great feeling to finally start. This will really boost Aibel in Bergen," says Project Manager Joachim Schrøder in Aibel.

The new Aibel building will be located at Kokstadvegen 23. It is a collaborative effort between Ferd, Aibel and Skanska. Ferd Eiendom is the client, Skanska is the contractor and Aibel is the tenant.

All were present for the laying of the cornerstone on Thursday afternoon.

"The build quality contributes to creating one of the best project environments in the industry," the Project Manager says.

Many of the Bergen employees were also present on Thursday. The manager in Bergen, Jan Konrad Olseth, says they are excited.

“Yes, we see that we will all soon be gathered under one roof, and that's a great feeling. The building will reinforce relations and give us the opportunity to work more efficiently,” he says.

In 2015, Aibel employees in Bergen will be able to move into beautiful, new premises.

The building will have a floor area of 25,000 square metres, and will have 900 workplaces and cellar parking. It is a landmark and environmental building with a very high BREEAM-NOR standard.

"In Bergen, Aibel is gaining a top-class landmark building, demonstrating our investment in the future," Project Manager Schrøder concludes.
