Language contract with UiS

Stavanger, 17 September 2010: Aibel AS has entered into a contract for Norwegian language training with the University in Stavanger (UiS). The contract will ensure good quality in the language training for Aibel’s foreign employees. The first course has already started.

‘Aibel recruits many highly-qualified employees from abroad. As one of the initiatives in our personnel policy, we wish to contribute to the easiest possible transition to the company and to Norway. Language and knowledge about how a society functions are important assumptions if one is to become more familiar with a new culture,’ says Rune Helliesen, HR Director in Aibel AS.

The language course will be delivered under the direction of Aibel Academy and it has been tailor-made for Aibel in Stavanger. It is divided into 4 different modules, according to the candidate’s level of mastery of the language. Many countries are represented in the first course; including others, there are participants from India, Venezuela, Canada, Kazakhstan, Romania, the Philippines and Nigeria.
