Bjørg Sandal to Aibel AS

Bjørg Sandal is appointed as the new Senior Vice President Communications in Aibel AS. Ms Sandal has substantial experience from both the private and public sectors, as well as from politics. She takes up her position in the company on 1 July.

‘Aibel is in a period of positive growth, and is one of the largest Norwegian companies that engineer, build, maintain and modify oil and gas production facilities. One of our objectives is to strengthen internal and external communication within the company. Bjørg Sandal has an extensive and varied background within her specialist field, and her competence and experience will strengthen our work within this field,’ says Jan Skogseth, CEO in Aibel.

Ms Sandal is currently employed as Director of Communications in Helse Vest, which is responsible for the publically-owned hospitals in Rogaland, Hordaland and Sogn and Fjordane. In the period from 2000 to 2001 Sandal was Parliamentary Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Oil and Energy, before starting at Helse Vest in 2002. Ms Sandal was previously employed in Phillips Petroleum Company Norway. As Communication Manager in Phillips she was responsible, among other things, for all internal and external information, including contact with the media, as well as for sponsor activity, welfare work, trade shows and exhibitions.

Bjørg Sandal has great social commitment, and extensive experience from politics.

Ms Sandal currently holds a number of directorships: amongst others, she is a board member in Helse Stavanger HF, a board member in the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology, as well as in the Samlaget publishing house. In addition, she is deputy representative to the board for the University of Stavanger.

Sandal will be a member of Aibel’s management group and will report to the CEO.
