  • BP chooses Aibel’s VIEC technology for Schiehallion FPSO

    Following an extensive evaluation period, BP has chosen the VIEC (Vessel Internal Electrostatic Coalescer) technology from Aibel to improve the oil and water separation process on their Schiehallion FPSO (Floating Production Storage Offloading). Two VIEC walls will be delivered by the end of April and will be installed in the first stage separator of separator train A (one of two) during a shutdown scheduled for July 2008.

  • Kårstø contract worth 93.5 MUSD to Aibel

    London, UK, 22 April 2008 – A contract initially worth 93.5 MUSD (470 MNOK) for electrical and instrumentation work at the Kårstø plant has been awarded to Aibel by StatoilHydro on behalf of operator Gassco. This work forms part of the Kårstø expansion project 2010 (KEP2010) at the gas and condensate processing facility, located north of Stavanger, Norway.

  • Aibel wins breakthrough pilot contract for new technologies

    Aibel has been awarded a contract by Teekay Petrojarl Production (TPP) for pilot installations of its latest two new technologies, the High Temperature Vessel Internal Electrostatic Coalescer (HT VIEC) and the Inductive Level Measurement System (ILMS). As Aibel’s president and CEO, R. Rasmus Sunde, comments: “While both technologies are further developments of existing products, the contract marks an important breakthrough for their commercialization and endorses yet again our expertise in the area of oil and water separation.”

    StatoilHydro has awarded its Kvitebjørn Capacity Upgrading (KVB CU) project, with an estimated total value of over 37 MUSD (200 MNOK), to Aibel. This follows a successful separate study for the work also conducted by Aibel in spring 2007. The KVB CU is a stand alone project that will be executed under Aibel’s existing Troll-Sleipner Maintenance & Modifications (M&M) contract. The sum of 37 MUSD includes related work already performed by Aibel since the summer of 2007.

    Aibel Group Ltd has announced that Timothy Puhr is joining the company as head of internal audit. He will be based at the company’s London office and report to Aibel’s Audit Committee.

  • Prosafe contract for Aibel in Thailand

    Aibel Thailand has been awarded a contract worth approximately USD 10 million for the procurement and construction of five topside modules for Prosafe Production Services Pte Ltd, for the Cidade De Sao Mates vessel, a Petrobras Gas floating production unit (FPSO). The project consists of two 820 ton manifold modules (M26 A&B), a 365 ton gas export module (M23), a 215 ton heating medium equipment module (M55) and a 190 ton chemical injection module (M34). Aibel will be responsible for the bulk procurement and construction and possibly loadout and transportation.

  • Aibel secures StatoilHydro contract worth USD 180M

    Aibel AS has signed a contract with StatoilHydro for area preparation, installation and integration of new living quarters modules on the Troll A platform. The new modules will increase the bed capacity on the platform by 150 and will also include a new central control room and kitchen.
