    It makes an unusual and magnificent sight with two huge platforms at Aibel’s yard at the same time. Soon, these two giants will be placed alongside each other at the Johan Sverdrup field.

    New Sverdrup giant project for Aibel

    Today Statoil has awarded Aibel a letter of intent for engineering, procurement and construction of the deck for the process platform (P2) in phase 2 of the Johan Sverdrup development. The final contract is expected to be signed later this year and has an estimated value of approx. NOK eight billion.

    Significant milestone for the Johan Sverdrup project

    In mid-January Aibel reached the important milestone of mechanical completion on the Johan Sverdrup drilling platform. The project is currently in the final commissioning stage.

    Following a successful FEED study, Aibel was awarded the EPCI contract for a new gas module for the Troll C platform. The module will handle increased production from the Fram field.

    The crowning glory

    Aibel reached a preliminary climax in the construction of the Johan Sverdrup drilling platform right before midnight on Monday, when the final of three modules was lifted into place in Klosterfjorden.

    Sverdrup module sees the light of day
