    Aibel undertakes quality work at its own facilities

Catcher FPSO Development Project

In cooperation with BW Offshore, Aibel delivered system support, area engineering and planning of a total of 10 modules for the Catcher FPSO.

Catcher FPSO Development Project was the first major stand-alone engineering project executed by Aibel’s Singapore office. At its peak, the project involved approx. 160 employees. Aibel worked closely together with the client, BW Offshore. The end-client for the project was Premier Oil.

The assignment included system support, area engineering and planning of a total of ten modules with a combined weight of around 11,000 tonnes. The modules included a power generator module, equipment modules and production modules, such as gas processing, oil separation and gas compression.

Previous to the assignment, Aibel performed the FEED for the Catcher FPSO topsides as part of an integrated team with BW Offshore.

Aibel awarded engineering contract


The Catcher field is operated by Premier Oil. It is situated in the UK Central North Sea.

BW Offshore will deliver the Catcher FPSO and mooring system, and subsequently install and operate the FPSO.

In April 2014, BW Offshore awarded Aibel the subcontract to carry out engineering services for the FPSO’s topside modules.

First oil is targeted for mid-2017.
