    Aibel undertakes quality work at its own facilities

Oseberg C Continous Drilling

Aibel was responsible for the hook-up of new living quarters to the Oseberg C platform.

In the summer of 2014, Statoil awarded Aibel the assignment for the hook-up of new living quarters to the existing living quarters at Oseberg C. The contract, valued at approx. NOK 135 million, included engineering, procurement, construction and installation services (EPCI).

The new living quarters will increased the platform's accommodation capacity with an additional 30 new cabins. Apply Leirvik at Stord buildt the actual module. Aibel's main task was to prepare and carry out the hook-up of the new module. In addition, Aibel had the overall responsibility for the interface of the project.

The living quarters was lifted onto the platform in the spring of 2016. Aibel's offshore team then started the work to connect the plumbing and integrate the module with the platform's other electrical and automation systems. The project was handed over to the client in the autumn of 2016 - below cost, ahead of schedule, without any injuries and to the agreed quality.

Oseberg C Continous Drilling was managed from Aibel's office in Bergen. Prefabrication took place at the yard in Haugesund.
