Department Manager Engineering - Offshore Wind

Field Development & Offshore Wind Haugesund is now looking to strengthen the Engineering base organisation with a new department manager. As a department manager you'll play an important role in building and securing our competence and capacity through: recruitment, employee development and mobilizing employees and hired-ins to our projects.

About the position

As a department manager, you’ll be a key player in our engineering management team. We’ll provide you with the necessary training and support to excel in your new role. At the same time, we’re excited to learn from you and the experience you bring. We’re seeking individuals passionate about organizational development, with an interest in leading and fostering growth within our team members.

Responsibilities and tasks include

  • Identify talents and develop employees
  • Mobilize resources to project roles to secure project delivery
  • Develop and attract competence for the future
  • Personnel management, i.e. employee follow up, performance and talent management
  • Budget and result responsibility for own department
  • Ensure information flow within department
  • Contribute to a positive social and working environment

Qualifications

We are looking for people with an interest in leading and developing the individuals within our technical environment. We expect you to have minimum 5 years' technical experience from FEEDs/EPC projects, as well as relevant leadership experience. Furthermore, we believe you:

  • Have a keen interest in leadership and a proven track record from earlier leadership experience
  • Hold a relevant technical degree (BSc or MSc)
  • Are eager to secure the growth and development of both individuals and organisation
  • Are an effective communicator and have proficient knowledge of English and Norwegian

  • Have a strategic mindset and work systematically and structured to reach defined targets
  • Are open to change and passionate about the deliverables and development of Aibel
  • Work proactively to acquire knowledge related to procedures and guidelines
