We are now looking for a newly graduated Engineer to strengthen our LCI & Requirement Engineering department in Asker. As a Piping Material Engineer you’ll assist in developing and maintaining critical piping and valve material specifications, contributing to the long-term success of our projects. You’ll ensure that engineers have the precise information they need to keep everything running smoothly, efficiently, and safely. By supporting the implementation of world-class piping standards and practices, you’ll help us deliver projects that are not only completed on time but are also set up for success in their operational phase. About the position
You will assist in developing and maintaining piping and valve material specifications and piping standards. Additionally, your responsibilities will include supporting regular coordination with clients, addressing technical queries, and participating in training sessions. You will be a vital member of one of our core piping groups. This position requires a foundational understanding of piping engineering codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, BS, ISO/EN, and NORSOK. Familiarity with the specific requirements of major Norwegian oil companies is a significant plus. This role is crucial to our projects and demands a comprehensive, multidisciplinary skill set and excellent coordination abilities. Responsibilities and tasks include
- Assist in developing and modifying Pipe Class Sheets and Piping Standards.
- Follow up on changes to International Standards and Aibel/Client Specifications.
- Support the procurement process of piping materials.
- Perform detailed calculations and verifications of piping components.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
- Coordinate requirements with the Material Master Database (MMD) and E3D Cats & Spec disciplines.
- Contribute to the development of the Semantic MMD.
- Supplier documentation review for crucial piping components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
- Relevant internship or project experience in EPC projects within offshore/onshore – oil & gas/renewable sector is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of piping class calculations.
- Familiarity with Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) projects is an advantage.
Personal qualities:
- Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written skills. Norwegian is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural, team-oriented environment.
- Self-driven with a structured, systematic approach to work.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
