LCI/DFO - Senior Engineer

With Aibel you have a chance to develop your career through a range of projects in renewables and oil and gas. We call ourselves Engineering Pioneers. Whatever our job is, we approach it with creativity, curiosity and a drive to find new and better solutions. First we imagine the future. Then we build it.

We are now looking for an innovative and motivated Senior Engineer within LCI/DFO to strengthen our current project teams in Asker. You will not only manage critical documentation processes, but you’ll also contribute to long-term operational success by ensuring that engineers and operators have the information they need to keep projects running smoothly, efficiently, and safely. By implementing world-class LCI/DFO practices, you’ll help Aibel deliver projects that are not only completed on time, but are set up for success in their operational phase.

About the Position
You’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that shape the future of energy and infrastructure, all while developing your skills and growing your career. As a Senior Engineer in our team of LCI experts, you may also be considered for a Lead role in our projects. This opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise and take on greater responsibilities within our dynamic team. Here, you will have the chance to drive innovation in Life Cycle Information (LCI) and Documentation for Operations (DFO) management. This is your chance to play a key role in developing cutting-edge LCI/DFO management systems, driving smooth transitions from project to operation, and ensuring a long-term legacy for engineering data. As a Senior Engineer, you will be at the heart of our efforts to ensure that the right information flows seamlessly throughout the lifecycle of complex projects, from initial design to commissioning and beyond. You’ll develop and implement robust LCI/DFO strategies, ensure Supplier Documentation Instruction (SDI) is in place, and lead the final documentation handover, setting the foundation for successful operational performance.

Responsibilities and tasks include

  • System Set-Up & Data Testing: Collaborate with IT to configure engineering systems and conduct thorough data control and transfer testing, ensuring that all project tools and systems are fully functional.
  • LCI/DFO Strategy Implementation: Lead, manage, and follow up on all LCI/DFO deliverables according to the project’s LCI/DFO strategy, ensuring alignment with key project milestones.
  • Document & Data Integrity: Verify the quality and completeness of LCI/DFO data before commissioning to ensure a smooth handover to the operations team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement, maintain, and refine processes in our Management System (W3), driving continuous improvements in LCI/DFO management for future projects.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the go-to expert for LCI/DFO across multiple disciplines, ensuring that all project stakeholders are aligned on documentation requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
  • At least 5 years of experience in LCI/DFO management, ideally within the oil and gas sector or offshore wind projects.
  • Experience working with equipment suppliers or in project engineering is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycles from engineering design through commissioning and handover to operations.

Personal Qualities

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural, team-oriented environment.
  • Self-driven with a structured, systematic approach to work.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • An innovative mindset and a passion for building networks and sharing knowledge.
  • Fluent in both Norwegian and English, with excellent verbal and written skills.
