Lifting Engineer

As a Lifting Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating lifting-related documentation, engineering reviews, and work processes to support safe and efficient project execution. In this role, you will be involved in planning, monitoring, and managing lifting operations, interfacing with engineering teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure compliance with technical and HSE requirements.
About the position
The Lifting Engineer plays a key role in preparing method statements, working instructions, and work packages within the assigned scope. You will review and respond to engineering activities such as load-out procedures, lifting plans, load test procedures, equipment drawings, and weight reports, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance. The role requires close coordination with customers and subcontractors, as well as updating and monitoring crane and lifting equipment utilization. You will also support progress reporting, maintain site facilities, ensure HSE activities are implemented, and contribute to continuous improvement through project procedures and work instructions. Collaboration across multiple disciplines in the project organization is essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer or equivalent in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working for a major international Contractor in the oil and gas industry as a Lifting Plan Engineer or similar role.
- Understanding of O&G construction schedule, methods, techniques and technical specifications.
- Ability to interpret and understand lifting requirements and technical matters.
- Excellent computer software literacy, using Microsoft Office Suite, Databases on a daily basis; proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Ability to coordinate and negotiate with others to achieve pre-determined outcomes.
- Cost planning/cost management.
- In depth knowledge of HSSE requirements and local and national regulations related to lifting operations
- Has a sound knowledge of, and experience working under HSSE requirements in the oil and gas industry.
- Must be able to coordinate any problems and take corrective actions to ensure that work with subcontractors complies with HSSE requirements.
- LEEA (Lifting Equipment engineers Association) or LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations) Training and Certification preferred.
- Rigging ,Forklift and relate work training to our subcontractor staff.
- Good command of English
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to type in both English and Thai
- Preferably eligible to work in Thailand.
