Principal Engineer - Structural

We are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to strengthen our Structural Analysis department in Oslo. As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will contribute to designing/analysing of main steel and secondary structures within one or more business segment in the company, including offshore wind, offshore and onshore oil and gas, hydrogen, aquaculture, and emerging segments.

About the position
In this position it is expected that you can work independently and that you are able to lead a small team of engineers. You will need to take responsibility for steel design and discipline deliveries in the project, this also includes performing different structural analyses, creating structural discipline input, documents and reports.

Responsibilities and tasks include

  • Work as structural and design lead within different studies and EPC projects
  • Responsible for co-ordination of resources and corresponding administration work
  • Is responsible for discipline engineering activities and carried out in accordance with pertinent specifications, with due regard to safety, operability, maintainability and constructability aspects.
  • Participate in tender work and give estimates of required structural scope and manhours.
  • Perform global structural analyses and design, fatigue analyses, node analyses, in-place and transport analyses.
  • Be a team member of the structural discipline and area multidiscipline teams

Qualifications

  • Must have extensive experience in structural analyses and knowledge of Analyses tools (Sesam tools and Abaqus). Knowledge of Python and scripting is advantage.
  • Practical experience in the design and analyses of main steel structures (proven track record in EPC projects).
  • The candidate must have good understanding of regulations related to structural design codes and standards.
  • Have documented experience working in lead position and demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale offshore projects. This include ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Experience working closely with clients, regulatory units, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance with industry standards.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and installation.
  • The candidate must have education within construction mechanics and steel structures, preferably master’s degree, but bachelor’s degree will also be considered.
