Principal structural engineer - Jacket

We are looking for principal structural engineers for a position in the Jacket Design group to strengthen our Concepts and studies department in Oslo. As a principal structural engineer you will be building up and optimize jacket concepts and perform various types of structural analyses necessary to perform studies, FEEDs and detail design of various jacket concepts.
About the position
You will execute jacket studies, FEED projects, full detail jacket engineering projects including local design together with a jacket design and drafting team. You will be required to document and communicate the results both at final delivery through technical reporting, but also at regularly basis with the other team members and project manager. Knowing Aibel’s business is not a prerequisite. However, you will be expected to acquire understanding of our company so that you can align the execution method with for jacket projects with our overall project execution philosophy.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Develop jacket concepts
- Optimizing existing concepts, maturing them to pass the next decision gate
- Perform analyses within ship impact, fatigue and seismic analyses
- Creating high quality reports
- Read up and stay up to date on all relevant design codes in different geographical areas
- Master`s degree or equivalent within structural engineering
- Minimum 10 years experience
- Preferably experience within one or more of Oil and Gas, or Offshore Wind projects
- Experience with Jacket analysis and design, construction and project execution
- Good English skills, both oral and writing
- Multidicipline understanding
- Proactiv, informativ and capable of untraditional conceptual thinking and challenging established truths
- High level of personal efficiency and able to prioritize necessary documentation to close task
- Enjoy collaborating with groups and working in teams
