Project Controller

Aibel is one of the largest suppliers on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Our engineers design platforms, which we build at our two yards. We also maintain and modify platforms, vessels and onshore plants for our customers. Aibel is by far the largest Norwegian provider of offshore wind solutions, and we are currently building six offshore wind platforms.
We are looking for an experienced Project Controller who can contribute to our exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. You will act as the project management’s business sparring partner and provide support and insight for the project’s financial performance. You will work closely with all parts of the organisation as well as the customer.
Project Controllers are responsible for the financial management for the projects throughout the project life cycle. To succeed, you must handle and enjoy complexity, cross-functional interphases and collaboration. You understand the value of hands-on stakeholder management and open communication.
In your role, you will meet challenges relating to contractual and commercial aspects as well as tax, legal and accounting. Cash flow and working capital are important forecasting areas. In close cooperation with Project Management, you will estimate risks, support the project team in managing variation orders and be a key driver of the project’s quarterly forecast process.
You will be part of the Business Control team which consists of financial specialists responsible for securing financial control in our projects. We work as a close team, sharing knowledge, competence and experience across the projects to ensure continuous improvements and value creation for Aibel. Business Control is part of the Finance organisation.
Your responsibilities
Responsible for the overall financial management of the project including:
- Monthly closing of project accounts
- Financial analysis
Forecasting and reporting
- Internal and external financial reporting
- All financial project forecasting and budgeting
- Contributions in change and tender work
Project improvement and risk management
- Control and communicate risks
- Actively search for opportunities to improve financial results
- Proactively seek and initiate improvements within own working area
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc degree in economics, finance, accounting or similar
- Minimum three years of relevant experience
- Solid business understanding and preferably experience with EPC projects
- Strong digital knowledge and enjoy applying technical solutions in your work
