Senior Engineer – Material Technology (Offshore Wind)

About the Position

You will be responsible for material technology in offshore wind projects, ensuring continuity of competence and technical quality. The role includes material selection, corrosion and erosion assessments, surface treatment evaluations, supplier follow‑up and documentation review.

Responsibilities and Tasks

You will assess material solutions, evaluate corrosion protection, surface treatment and insulation, follow up welding, heat treatment and fabrication activities, review and approve supplier procedures and material documentation, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with engineering disciplines, contractors and clients to secure compliant deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s in Material Technology or Materials Engineering
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in offshore wind or offshore projects
  • Good understanding of multidisciplinary engineering environments
  • Experience with fabrication follow-up including welding and heat treatment is an advantage
  • Experience with supplier follow‑up and documentation review
  • Experience with material selection, corrosion protection, surface treatment and insulation

Personal Qualities

You communicate well, collaborate effectively across disciplines, and work independently with attention to detail. You deliver high‑quality work, share knowledge actively and handle deadlines efficiently. English fluency is required; Norwegian is an advantage.
