Senior / Principal Engineer Automation – Offshore Wind

Due to a growing market within renewable energy / offshore wind, Aibel see the need to further strengthen and increase manpower in the offshore wind department in Haugesund. This department is part of the business unit Field Development and Offshore Wind and counts today close to 50 engineers in Haugesund. We need to increase the staff in several disciplines due to many ongoing and potential future projects.

We are now looking for a skilled and experienced Senior / Principal Engineer Automation, who can contribute in Aibel’s exciting future within renewable energy / offshore wind.

Your responsibilities:

  • Discipline lead and/or discipline engineer Automation in large projects
  • Participate in tender work and studies.
  • System Design and follow up of Safety and Automation System (SAS) & interface to SCADA
  • SAS Topology design
  • Automation hardware design and solutions
  • System control diagram (SCD) development for programming basis
  • Alarm and information management system
  • Review of vendor technical documentation
  • Perform and complete engineering documents and data registers
  • Interface to other disciplines and suppliers
  • Produce documentation and drawings; such as wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, Cause & Effect, loop drawing both for process, Fire & Gas and safety systems
  • Administration of tags and IO lists
  • IS Calculations
  • Follow-up instrument and automation technical issues for mechanical packages related to the system, including input to vendor documentation.
  • Input to SAS package and other auto/instrument packages as required,
  • Input to SAS signal budget as required
  • Input to area design as required
  • Participate in meetings, workshops and reviews

Qualifications:

  • Master or bachelor degree –Automation
  • Discipline lead Automation in large projects
  • Experience from large projects
  • Experience from multidiscipline teams
  • Experience with HV equipment
  • Experience from projects outside Norway (England/Germany/Holland)
  • Experience with follow-up of vendors
  • Min 5 years working experience within instrument and automation engineering

  • Ability to work independently and thorough as well as ability to work in team
  • Good multidiscipline understanding
  • Have a high loyalty to deadlines and quality requirements
  • Be proactive, seeking advice and share own experiences with others
  • Good communications skills in Norwegian (preferable) and English, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to understand new rules and regulations
