Aibel is delivering a total of five modules to client Estaleiros do Brasil Ltda. (EBR) and the FPSO P-74. The first steel in the project was cut in October 2013. Now, the first three modules have been shipped from the yard in Thailand.

"We have successfully delivered the modules without any lost time incidents or punches. Many challenges have been overcome, but thanks to a great team effort this first shipment has been completed," says Aibel's Project Manager, Thanakorn Wankanapol.

The total weight of the first shipment was 2,542 tonnes. It comprised modules M01Flare System Module (1,015 tonnes), M14 Chemical Unit and Products Storage (705 tonnes) and M15 Utilities (822 tonnes).

The modules left the yard on the afternoon of 8 September. They are now headed for Sao Jose do Norte yard in Brasil, where they will be installed on the P-74 FPSO by Estaleiros do Brasil Ltda. The FPSO will eventually operate in Brasilian waters for end client Petrobas.

The shipment of the project's final two modules (M8 and M9) is scheduled for November.

"With the support of our client, subcontractors and suppliers, I am certain we will make yet a successful delivery," the project manager says.

Following the final delivery of the P-74 construction project, Aibel Thailand will start on the construction of the Main Support Frame (MSF module) for the Johan Sverdrup Drilling Project
