Aibel AS appoints two new board members

The general meeting of Aibel has appointed Charlotte Strand and Helle Bay as new members to the board of directors with effect from 11 August.

“Charlotte Strand and Helle Bay will bring the board experience and knowledge of both the renewable sector and the transformation in the industry, and will complement the board in a good way,” says chairman Helge Midttun.

With a long career in Ørsted (formerly DONG), Charlotte Strand has in-depth knowledge of the offshore wind industry and transformation from an oil and gas company to a leading global company in renewable energy. She has been CFO of Ørsted's business units within both E&P and offshore wind and was a key figure in the listing of the company. Charlotte Strand holds a master’s degree in Social Economics from the University of Aarhus (1987). She is also a member of the boards of PostNord AS and Evida AS, among others.

Helle Bay has a background in HR and is a graduate of the University of Aarhus (2003). She has extensive experience in the wind power sector after 13 years in the turbine supplier Vestas. Here she has held key management positions, in recent years as the company’s Senior Vice President HR. Bay is currently EVP People & Culture in the truck manufacturer Scania, and has a pivotal role in the restructuring that is taking place in the company.

Bay and Strand will replace Torfinn Kildal and Tom Røtjer.
