The rig will arrive at Aibel's yard in Haugesund early in the autumn 2015. During the stay of approximately one month, Aibel will be performing various tasks in connection with SPS (Special Periodic Survey). This includes inspection activities and modifications within structure and piping. The planning of the yard stay starts this week.

"During spring and summer we have won several new contracts within this field. It shows that we are able to offer attractive solutions for the rig, FPSO and ship markets," states Bjørn Tollefsen, EVP Yard Haugesund in Aibel.

Throughout the years, Aibel has carried out modifications and maintenance on more than 100 rigs in Haugesund. This gives the company solid experience and expertise.

"It is part of our strategy for the yard to use our expertise to win more contracts like this in the future. It will keep up the activity level and help securing stable employment in a competitive market," Tollefsen explains.

Deepsea Bergen is from 1983 and owned by Odfjell Drilling. Most recently, the rig has been used for activities for Statoil at the fields Skuld, Åsgard and Heidrun.
