After its arrival last week, the Hornsea 3 Link 2 platform was yesterday loaded into the quay area at the yard, where it is now reunited with its sibling, Link 1, which is currently undergoing final completion. Both platforms are constructed at Aibel’s yard in Map Ta Phut, Thailand.

The Link 2 is the latest of Aibel’s, so far, five offshore wind platforms successfully constructed in accordance with the company’s lean concept and its well-proven model for HVDC converter stations to the international offshore wind market.

Now, the Link 2 platform will undergo the same process in Haugesund as Link 1, including installation of the high-voltage equipment from partner Hitachi Energy, as well as further commissioning activities until expected completion and sailaway in late summer 2026.

The scheduled sailaway for the Link 1 platform is in spring 2026.
