Aibel delivers a specially designed flexible crash barrier solution for improved platform safety and protection of assets in connection with offshore and onshore material handling and crane operations. The solution is simple and developed in accordance with NORSOK and requirements from the operating companies. It is installed on several assets on the Norwegian Continental Shelf as well as onshore facilities, including Gudrun, Aasta Hansteen, Johan Sverdrup, Njord, Munin, Melkøya/Hammerfest LNG, and Oseberg.
Aibel’s Flexible Crash Barriers are characterized by a robust and maintenance-free design, designed to reduce the swinging loads during crane operation and reduce structural loads on the platform. The barriers are available in several standardized designs with various options for customized solutions, including wind walls and lighting fixtures.
The Aibel Wind Wall system is a standalone system containing both wind walls and supporting structures and posts. Kick plates and handrailing can be delivered as part of the system.

Aibel has developed a strong visualisation team that adds value to our projects. CAD models and drawings are transformed into lifelike images and simulations. This gives all project participants and stakeholders an opportunity to see the future installation in a totality in a highly realistic context. The Aibel visualisation team may even create animated videos visualizing an entire fabrication or installation process, e.g. from the different construction phases at various sites to final installation.
The recent advances in hardware and software have also made it possible to extend the area of use. By example, detailed interactive experiences of platforms, modules or sites provide the users with the opportunity to get better acquainted with the facilities before entering them. This makes the visualisations suitable for various training and HSSE purposes.
