Since 2016, Aibel has held a contract with Aker BP (former Det norske) on maintenance, modifications and operation services for the Ivar Aasen platform and Alvheim FPSO.

The contract confirms Aibel’s position as a leading MMO contractor on Norwegian continental shelf. In addition to maintenance, modifications and operation services, the agreement also includes various types of studies.

The contract is managed from Aibel’s head office in Stavanger and has duration of three years with options for further three two-year periods.

Aibel has good experience from both Alvheim FPSO and Ivar Aasen. Aibel held the contract for extensive refurbishment, including new topside, on the Alvheim FPSO with delivery in 2007, and the company was responsible for hook-up of the Ivar Aasen platform on the field in 2016.

Delivery: The initial contract had duration of three years and has been extended with further two years (ending in 2021). The contract has options for additional two times two years.

The Alvheim field is located in the North Sea west of Haugesund close to the border with the UK sector. In addition to Alvheim, the Vilje, Volund and Bøyla fields are tied back to the FPSO.

The Ivar Aasen field is located west of the Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea.
