28 April - The Mediterranean

We're done with Suez and are at the moment positioned east of Sicily.

Byen ved innløpet
The city by the inlet of the Suez Canal

We had four men who came to stay on the boat when we were on anchor in the inlet of the Suez Canal. They stayed with us the whole trip through the canal.

Both the vessel and us established access control for the module and walked security rounds 24 hours. The fine for throwing rubbish in the canal is $ 10,000!

The vessel Evergreen, that blocked the canal some weeks ago, is still there.

Along the entire canal were military posts on both sides and it was not allowed to take pictures. But most people do so anyway. We went into the canal around 6am in the morning and were out around 8pm, so it went quite fast.

We have been lucky that there have been no sandstorms along the way, in terms of the equipment that provides overpressure, correct humidity and temperature.

Everything has worked fine so far.
