Principal Engineers – Field Instrumentation

Department for Instrumentation in Oslo, located in Asker, is looking to strengthen the team with new Principal Field Instrumentation Engineers. You will play a pivotal role in the conceptualization and design of instruments. This position offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise to shape innovative solutions and drive forward-thinking initiatives.

About the position

In this role, you’ll leverage your technical expertise and multidisciplinary approach to navigate market dynamics and commercial impacts. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of crafting detailed instrument descriptions for study tenders, and conducting preliminary phase studies. While familiarity with Aibel’s operations is beneficial, your ability to quickly grasp our business model and align opportunities with our strategic focus is key.

Responsibilities and tasks include

  • Responsible for Instrument in Concept development
  • Problem solving/optimization and finding new solution for given Instrument design challenges
  • Support and assist Business Development within Instrument issues as well as marketing
  • Responsible for knowledge of relevant national and international rules and regulation (PSA, NORSOK, API, ISO etc.)

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience from years with the technical qualification
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience and competence
  • Preferably experience with concept development work
  • Knowledge of methods and technologies for Instrument design
  • Fluent in written and spoken English – Norwegian is an advantage
