Renewables Engineering in Haugesund is looking to strengthen the team with a new Senior/Principal Mechanical Package Responsible Engineer. You will be part of mechanical engineering in large projects and hold the position as discipline engineer or discipline lead. As an engineer in Aibel you will work in a multidiscipline environment, participating in studies, bids and FEED and/or detail engineering projects. About the position
As part of Aibel’s team, you will be technical responsible (Package Responsible Engineer) for procurement of mechanical equipment packages in projects. As well as prepare and issue equipment specifications and datasheets for procurement and perform technical evaluation of supplier quotations. You will perform inspections and witness testing at supplier’s workshop and follow-up equipment installation, and testing on yard/offshore. Some travelling is expected.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Mechanical equipment study work, design, selection and assessments
- Technical liaison with suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines
- Evaluate and respond to technical queries
- Review and approval of supplier documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes and standards for supplier’s scope of work
- Ensure timely delivery of equipment and documentation
Qualifications
- MSc og BSc in mechanical engineering or similar. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
- Minimum 5 years' experience as mechanical package responsible engineer
- Experience with O&G projects on the Norwegian continental shelf or in the Offshore Wind sector is advantageous
- Proficient in written and spoken English, Norwegian skills is an advantage
